Less Waste = More Profit

Our customers have a range of reasons for recycling with us; it could be to fulfill the needs of their environmental management system, to comply with current Environment Agency and other waste management legislation, to meet procurement tender requirements or just because they believe it is the right thing to do to protect the environment!  

Often though, customers simply choose to recycle their waste materials for the cost benefits gained.  It is easy to underestimate the real cost of waste to your business - the reality is that every £ you spend on waste removal is a £ less profit for your business. 

Businesses that send their waste direct to landfill will know that the current rate of landfill tax is £32 per tonne.  Other businesses  will still have this cost passed on to them if their current disposal service provider sends waste collected to landfill.  

Added to this, waste bills are set to rise further as the government progressively increases landfill tax over the next five years both to reduce the environmental impact of the waste we produce and to combat the growing pressure on landfill space (at current usage rates Kent has only enough landfill capacity for another five years).

Often companies just think about waste removal or skip clear clearance costs when they consider their waste bills.  It is all too easy to forget that the items being disposed of have a cost too.  Wasted raw materials, energy and labour can mean that actual costs can be between 5 and 20 times higher than just the cost of disposal.   

As well as contributing to the effort to reduce environmental damage, there are major cost benefits for businesses that can reduce the amount of waste they produce.  Where this isn't possible there are many ways to re-use or recycle unwanted materials that are more cost effective than general waste disposal routes.
