New laws on landfill from 30th October 2007

From 30th October 2007, landfills can no longer accept untreated waste. You should consider how you will meet these requirements. Save guard your company by checking the following before you landfill.

If you don’t you will be fined

1) Has your waste collector got a licence?
2) Are you going to treat the waste, or have it treated?
3) Have you got a Duty of Care?

How can waste be treated?

Your company now must segregate non-hazardous waste into individual waste streams or you may know this as recycling. Its no longer a option to put your waste into one skip it now must be segregated this means all plastics, cans, paper and cardboard have to be recycled.
